Reformer Pilates, the latest wave in fitness, has come to Van Wagner Place! Check out Spring House, a new home for resistance-based training, at 33 Arlington Ave., one door over from the Wheel House, which offers indoor cycling and other exercise programs.
Wheel House and Spring House are both owned by Michelle Cherubini; under her leadership, the Wheel House has thrived at Van Wagner Place for seven years.
“It’s been great,” Cherubini said, crediting Van Wagner Place’s convenient location along the Westbound Arterial for attracting members from throughout the region. “People from LaGrange, Wappingers Falls, Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie visit us,” she said.
Reformer Pilates uses machines that create resistance with large springs. They provide “full-body strength training with low impact,” Cherubini said.
She’s been a great neighbor, and her influence on Van Wagner Place extends beyond her fitness studios. She helped design the top-floor gymnasium in 44 Springside, our newest multi-use building. Residents of the 28 apartments there will have access to the Wheel House’s 100 on-demand fitness classes on screen in the gymnasium.
As Van Wagner Place continues to grow, Cherubini hopes to build more synergy among the residences and businesses there.
“When you work live and play in your neighborhood, it really brings a boost to the community,” she said.
